About the Author

My purpose for writing this blog was to record events in my life from a Christian perspective. I hope to reach those who do not know Christ or desire to grow closer to Him.

My childhood was growing up on a farm, and I have written unique experiences that go along with it. My professional experience as a Program Planner for Rehabilitation Services involved a lot of writing, such as issue papers, mission statements, goals and objectives, budget justification documents, grants and program plans. Then I gained skills in public relations promoting programs and my businesses. This took the form of flyers, radio spots, emails, newsletters, fundraising letters, newsletters and newspaper articles. I wrote grants a position with the city and brought in new monies. As a church secretary, I learned new software to produce newsletters and graphic art. I was fortunate to have these experiences to learn new skills.

My calling into ministry was at the age of 48 and I graduated with a Master of General Ministry with an emphasis on Missions. I worked for several churches as a Secretary and Christian Education Director. I helped a church regain their youth ministry after a church split. At another church I had the opportunity to start an afterschool mentoring/tutoring program with the help of retired teachers and a principal. Over the years I have participated as a volunteer in mission and outreach programs.

I hope to promote my business, Writing with Purpose, by contacting Christian social service organizations to offer my services. All the aforementioned skills will be included. My prayer is to do the will of God and give Him the glory.

I will continue to record my walk with God on this blog through memoirs, poetry, biographies, and issue papers. My prayer for you is that the Holy Spirit touches your heart and my writing inspires you. God bless you!
