HE MAKETH ME LIE DOWN

As I lay prone my senses awaken
To sounds I’ve heard before,
Visions passed by,
But now anew.
Birds chirping happily after morning feed,
Methodic ticking of my favorite old clock,
Glints of sunshine sparkling on the snow,
Oil paintings viewed afresh,
My cats silent repose,
The texture of a comfort quilt.
All things passed by before, now held back,
New perspectives of old replays,
Seen or heard everyday, contemplated,
Thought about in-depth, examined.
Studied although read before.
Enlightened, refreshed, healed,
Transformed to appreciate once more.
