This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates. I have dreamed of writing for years, but the demands of work, family life and household chores kept this from becoming a reality. Now, in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic, I have no excuse.

This blog will be an ongoing script of my progress toward becoming a free-lance writer. It seems only natural I will be writing about my personal experience during the Covid-19 crisis and how it has effected me and those I know, how I have coped and what was happening in the world around me. I hope to write about social issues related to poverty, domestic violence, the criminal justice system and religious liberty. On a more personal note, I wish to explore the topic of living an alternate reality. Basically, this is like making lemons into lemonade. Subject areas will touch upon – Living the Country Life I Once Knew; Traveling from the Comfort of Home and Building a Business in Prison. I grew up in the country and have been citified since 1975, but I have hopes of returning to the country. There are countries I would love to visit, such as Lithuania, England, and South Korea. My step-son is in prison and has an amazing talent in drawing. I would like to help him share his talent which is truly awesome.

Other topics will reflect upon my or my loved one’s past. Book titles will pertain to my husband – “Living on Route 66”, my Mom and my Aunt – “Living on the Family Farm: Two Sister-In-Laws” and my Grandpa Wright – Was My Grandpa Murdered in the Mental Institution?” That got your attention, I’m sure! My Grandpa was a wealthy dairy farmer and lost his money when the banks crashed in the Depression. He became severely depressed and was placed in a state mental institution.

A recent living arrangement would talk about my experience, entitled “Back Home Again: Coping with Your Adult Children and Grandchildren. This was a time of learning more about myself and my family and will hopefully be a useful resource.

At the same time, I will pursue making an income of my writing by seeking contracts. I have experience writing successful grants for state and city government and local social service organizations. Promotional materials displayed my creativity in brochures, radio ads, newspaper articles, news releases, newsletters and social media posts. This will be under the business name, “Writing With Purpose.” I recently established my dba with Sangamon County. My business is devoted to serving God through my writing and fulfilling His purposes for my life.

So, I will post my writings and let you know how my business develops. It will be a journal I will share with you and hopefully you can learn from my mistakes and my victories.

6/16/20 Today I added the titles of subjects I will write about. As I write, I will add to the posts. So, I guess you could say each post is under construction until further notice. I’m excited about sharing with you.
